I need to figure out my five to ten-year plan: Lewis Hamilton is in ‘ no hurry ‘ to sign new Mercedes deal … U-turn on a possible F1 World Champions exit

Lewis Hamilton has said that before signing a new contract with Mercedes he needs to figure out his next ‘ five to 10-year plan.

Hamilton had linked to a move away from the world champions he joined from McClaren back in 2013. Nevertheless, he is almost certain to remain in a complete U-turn but is in ‘ no hurry ‘ to sign a new deal.

The Final Contracts:

The six-time F1 champion admitted that he doesn’t know when to start contract talks with Mercedes. But that he feels ‘ great ‘ to be back again.

I’m really feeling great within the team. He said of the check on Week One. When we are going to sit down and talk. I don’t know and I don’t see any urgency. I think our targets aligned so I’m sure we’re going to sit down.

Hamilton went on to make sure that only the ‘ small details ‘ will need to be discussed. He enters into negotiations on what is likely to be his career’s final contract.

Joining Mercedes encouraged me to be who I want to be rather than constraining myself and telling me to be a certain person, or to talk a certain way, or to dress a certain way that is often the case elsewhere. I thought it was great.

There are all these question marks about the different things I do but over the last few years, everyone has seen the results. It just keeps proving it is actually encouraging. It makes me more engaged, it makes me a driver even better than I thought I could be.

It’s more of an attempt to figure out what my next five or ten-year strategy is.

Lewis Hamilton is in ‘ no rush ‘ to sign a new deal with the Mercedes F1 champions. Hamilton explained he must first figure out his ‘ five to ten-year plan. ‘ After six years with McClaren from 2007, Hamilton joined Mercedes back in 2013.
