India-bound CFMoto 300SR (rival Yamaha R3) revealed

The 300 cc variant called ‘CFMoto 300SR’ was unveiled along with the CFMoto 250SR. So, the version of the higher capacity is reportedly scheduled for launch in India.

The CFMoto 300SR derives power from a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, Euro-IV 292.4 cc engine with DOHC configuration. It also has Bosch EFI. So, it is supposed to provide an optimum combination of fuel efficiency and performance. This engine will produce a max power of 28.6 BHP at 8,750 rpm and 25.3 Nm at 7,250 rpm. It has an a6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch.

CFMoto has introduced various advanced methods to improve the overall performance and efficiency of the engine. The engine used a dual-coated piston to reduce frictional losses. The cylinder fitted with a noise reduction system to mitigate vibrations and engine noise. The incorporated balancing shaft allows the engine to revolve smoothly.

Perhaps one of the CFMoto 300SR’s most attractive features is its full-color TFT display. So, it is similar to that of the 300NK already on the Indian market. The TFT panel features two controls that are available for the two riding modes-Eco and Sport. It may seem a minor feature but it should improve the overall riding experience.

The CFMoto 300SR is featuring a fully physical instrument cluster.

The 300SR feels a lot like its smaller counterpart-the 250SR. So, this will be the 300SR out of these two to find its way into our nation in the mid-2020, hopefully, sometime. So, it projected to bear a high price tag and will be vying with the Yamaha R3, whose facelifted, BS-VI version has yet to launch.

Many of the CFMoto 300SR’s other main features include:

  • Sporty, aerodynamic style.
    Full-lighting.
    Exhaust underbelly.
  • Handlebars with lock-on.
    USD 37 mm forks.
  • Seat height: 780 mm.
  • Floor clearance 135 mm.
  • Kerb weight: 165 kg

So, the brake system on the CFMoto 300SR features a 292 mm disk. With a front-floating four-piston calliper and a rear-floating 220 mm disk with a single-piston calliper. So, the continental ABS improves braking efficiency.
