They don’t make’em just like that they used to. Movie heroes, that’s. This was demonstrated when Empire Magazine asked readers to vote for their favorite film hero of all time. Running and dodging past current superheroes and key agents, and whip-swinging to the front of the list, Indiana Jones took the summit of their most popular hero in movies, beating out Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise, who came in second.
The list spans a wide variety of genres and periods and is made up of 50 movie heroes. There is Atticus Finch, James Bond, Batman, Imperator Furiosa, Marty McFly, Alex Foley, John Wick, Trinity, Black Widow, and Samwise Gamgee among others. If anything, the record shows that audiences can appreciate heroes of any size, shape or gender, whether they are hitting despots in the face like the Avengers or standing up for the rights of their everyman such as Atticus Finch.
