JSW MG Motor India announced a price increase effective from January 1, 2026. The revision applies across the entire MG product range sold in India. The company stated that prices may rise by up to 2%. The final increase depends on the selected model and variant. The manufacturer linked the revision to higher production-related expenses.

Rising raw material costs continue to affect vehicle manufacturing. Broader economic conditions have also increased supply chain expenses. MG Motor India reported steady wholesale growth during the 2025 calendar year. Customers booking vehicles before December 31, 2025, retain current prices.

2026 MG Hector Facelift Introduced Ahead Of Price Revision

JSW MG Motor India launched the 2026 MG Hector facelift on December 15, 2025. The update arrived before the planned portfolio-wide price increase. The Hector facelift remains positioned in the midsize SUV segment. Introductory pricing begins at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom for five-seat variants.

Exterior changes focus on minor visual updates and refreshed detailing. The front receives a new Aura Hex grille with a revised pattern. Additionally, the bumper design has been adjusted for a cleaner appearance. New 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels join the updated model range. Two new paint options include Celadon Blue and Pearl White shades.

Interior Technology And Safety Updates In The New Hector

Cabin updates focus on improved software and material refinements. The 14-inch vertical touchscreen remains the central feature inside. The infotainment system now supports gesture-based climate and media controls. Hardware upgrades include expanded memory support for smoother screen response.

Furthermore, interior colour themes differ across seating configurations. Five-seat versions receive an Ice Grey dual-tone cabin finish. Six and seven-seat Hector Plus models adopt an Urban Tan interior theme. Wireless smartphone connectivity remains standard across all variants. A panoramic sunroof continues as standard equipment in the lineup.

Engine Options And Market Positioning For 2026

The 2026 MG Hector will use the same engine line-ups. The power is supplied by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The torque and output that this engine gives are 143 PS and 250 Nm. Consequently, it comes in transmission options of a six-speed manual and a CVT unit. The diesel model has a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. It provides 170 PS and 350 Nm of drive.

The diesel model is presently provided with a manual gearbox. Among the expected details on diesel pricing is at the beginning of 2026. The MG Hector Plus is priced at the beginning of the Rs 17.29 lakh ex-showroom. Leading models cost nearly 19.49 lakh ex-showroom. The updated Hector makes an entry into the market of crowded midsize SUVs. A number of competitors have been updated at the same time.
