The BMW X7 is available with three engine options. 8-speed automatic transmission and whole-wheel drive are standard no matter which engine you choose.

The X7 xDrive40i has a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder with 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. This engine provides more than enough muscle for everyday driving, and it pairs nicely with BMW’s eight-speed automatic, which delivers smooth and well-timed gear changes. Fuel economy is another highlight of this powertrain. The xDrive40i is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The car accelerates from 0 -100kmph/6.1 seconds.

The X7 xDrive50i has a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 456 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The X7 M50i has a retuned version of this V8 that makes 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. Both engines give the X7 stronger acceleration and more passing power but at the cost of fuel economy. Both of these models are rated at 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

Interior:

The BMW X7 has a user-friendly iDrive infotainment system with multiple ways to control most functions. You can use the touch screen, voice recognition, physical buttons on the dashboard, as well as a knob and touchpad on the centre console.
