Lamborghini teased the world with a new hybrid with pictures of distinctive taillights that hinted towards a new Sian FK 37 variant. And on 8th July, it unveiled the unique combination, namely, Lamborghini Sian Roadster.
The all-new hybrid hypercar by Lamborghini Sian Roadster will be a limited edition limited to 19 units. The Roadster is the topless model of the company’s first hybrid car, Sian FKP 37. The limited 19-units have already been sold out. The new Lamborghini Sian Roadster will support a 48-volt hybrid assisted 6.5-liter V12 engine developing 808bhp.
The Roadster that was unveiled online on the company’s official website and youtube channel had a Blu Uranus shining bod with the same “Oro Electrum” copper shade wheels as the Sian FKp 37 was released in. Lamborghini says it is the color chosen to reflect the electrified aspect of the Sian’s drivetrain.
The Sian roadster has a similar low nose tip front fascia as the Sian FKP, which also features from the older sibling. The car’s sides are sculpted with enormous side vents, periscope style vents on the top of the rear wheel arches are a nod to the Countach. Simultaneously, around the back, hexagonal LED taillights match up with a pop-up rear wing and a rear diffuser with enormous venturi tunnels.Â
The new Sian Roadster features new supercharger tech, which backs up the 48V motor system. The engine, a V12 engine churns out a 774 hp, while the electric motor adds an extra 34 hp, weighing just 34 kg. The supercharger concept helps the Lambo save weight. The e-motor assists acceleration at speeds up to 81mph, and provides torque fill during gearshifts, to eliminate the brief loss of power between gears and jerking upshifts. The e-motor also kicks in at low speeds, for reversing maneuvers and parking on electric power only.
