Land Rover India on Wednesday launched the new-generation Range Rover SUV in India.
Land Rover India has launched the new generation Range Rover SUV in India on Wednesday. Launched in the global markets last year, the 2022 Range Rover (2022 Range Rover) SUV has been priced at Rs 2.31 crore ex-showroom in India. The carmaker has also announced that bookings for the SUV have started for Indian customers.
The 2022 Range Rover SUV is based on the carmaker’s new flexible modular longitudinal architecture. This is the fifth generation of the SUV. The new Range Rover comes with a new look, new engine options and comes loaded with a host of features along with new technology.
Three Trims
Land Rover will offer the new Range Rover SUV in three trims which include SE, HSE (HSE) and Autobiography (Autobiography). The company will also introduce a first edition variant by next year, which will be based on the Autobiography model with unique specifications. Among the five exterior color options, the variant will be offered exclusively in Sunset Gold Satin finish.
Engine And Power
The fifth generation of the Range Rover SUV comes in three options. It is powered by a 3.0-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine that produces 394 hp and 550 Nm of peak torque. There is also a similar diesel unit that generates 341 hp power and 700 Nm peak torque. The third option is a larger 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 515 hp and 750 Nm of peak torque.
Size
The length of the 2022 Range Rover is more than 5 meters, which can be increased to 5.25 meters in the long-wheelbase (LWB) version. Its width is 2.20 m, height is 1.87 m. It gets a wheelbase of around 3 meters, which goes up to 3.19 meters in the long-wheelbase version. The new Range Rover SUV will be available in both standard or long-wheelbase versions with five seats. The LWB Range Rover will also have a third row to accommodate seven people.
Look And Design
In terms of looks, the new Range Rover comes with a new grille and digital LED headlamp design with DRLs with a beam range of up to 500m. The SUV gets a new boat-tail rear with a sloping roofline and split tailgate.
Features
Talking about the interiors of the SUV, you will find that many changes have been made in the Range Rover. It gets a new 13.1-inch curved touchscreen infotainment screen which is paired with Land Rover’s latest Piwi Pro system. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from the main infotainment screen, there are two units of the 11.4-inch touchscreen for the rear passengers. It also gets a 1,600-watt Meridian Signature Sound System along with Cabin Air Purification Pro to keep the polluted particles away from the cabin.
