The Coronavirus is at peak, but the real-life heroes are ready to fight it till their last breath. The Indian Police force has to be saluted for their commendable spirit towards their duty for their nation. From frequent patroling to loud mic announcements, these peoples are working day and night to stop people from stepping out. Recently Maharastra Police was applauded for their continuous efforts and the state’s Home Minister Anil Deshmukh added Segway electric scooters for their ease.
Starting with fifty of these two-wheeled electric scooters, these were delivered to police personnel at Marine Drive in south Mumbai. The same will be introduced for cops in suburban Bandra, Juhu, and Versova. Along with the help of drones, these will help out the cops to keep a check on public places.
These small self-balancing electric scooters have a Samsung battery with a capacity of 29V. These can easily carry 120kg of weight without any sensed reduction in speed or power. With a max speed of 12km/h, these scooters get fully charged up to 80% in just 60 minutes. They have a range of 28km which could be troublesome, especially for these cops. The Segway’s footprint (how much space it covers on the ground) is 19 by 25 inches (48 by 63.5 cm). This makes the Segway about the same width as an average size person, so it doesn’t take up much space on the street. The platform is 8 inches (20 cm) off the ground.
These scooters have 2 small 2-hp motors fro each wheel and have a 24:1 gear ratio system paired. The small LCD screen tells the driver how much battery power is left and how well the vehicle is functioning. The screen displays a cartoon face, which expresses the general condition of the vehicle. This thing comes up with five 5 gyroscopes that help it self balance.
