    Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG Variant Production Begins, expected to be launch very soon

    Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest carmaker. Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) recently launched its entry-level hatchback car Alto 800 by updating to the new BS6 fuel emission standards. After which the company showcased the S-Presso S-CNG model at the 2020 Auto Expo. Alto, Baleno, Dzire, Ertiga, S-Preso, and Swift are among the top-selling models of Maruti Suzuki at its Manesar plant in Haryana.

    Recently, after a long time, production work has started again in this plant. Production of the S-Presso CNG has begun and it is expected that it will soon reach showrooms across the country. The S-CNG variant of the Ertiga was introduced earlier this year, as part of the Mission Green Million Plan. And the BS6 Wagon R S-CNG was launched in the LXi and LXi (O) variants, with ex-showroom prices in Delhi being Rs 5.25 lakh and Rs 5.32 lakh respectively.

    The company claims that the Wagon R S-CNG variant gets a mileage of 32.52 kilometers per kilogram and the car gets a 60-liter fuel capacity tank. Similarly, the 1.0-liter K-Series petrol engine has been used in the S-Presso CNG and will be more economical as well as less polluting than the standard version. It has a dual interdependent ECU (electronic control unit) and a new injection system.

    The S-Presso S-CNG can be offered in four different variants – LXi, LXi (O), VXi and VXi (O). It has a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine with standard variants only. This engine generates 67 hp power and 90 Nm peak torque. At the same time, CNG variants get less power and torque, which is 58 hp and 78 Nm. This engine has a 5-speed manual gearbox.

    The ex-showroom price of the entry-level trim of the S-Presso is currently Rs 3.71 lakh and the ex-showroom price of the top variant is Rs 4.99 lakh. It will compete with the Hyundai Santro CNG, which is sold in Magna and sports variants, among other models. Maruti Suzuki’s S-Preso became a popular model as it started selling last year. The car is just below the compact SUV Vitara Brezza is the company’s domestic portfolio. The car is available with features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with a digital speedometer.
