McLaren plans to debut all-new third-gen F1 simulator in 2020

The McLaren Formula 1 team is building an all-new simulator which is going to be a”massive departure” from its predecessor, according to tech chief James Key.

Although It has enjoyed its best season in years in 2019, the Woking-based staff is still undergoing a continuous overhaul – which includes the building of a new wind tunnel for 2021 – under the new direction of fresh team boss Andreas Seidl and Key, who came in from Toro Rosso.

While McLaren’s F1 simulator was, Key Acknowledges developing a brand new version was a must in light of Technological advancements in the area.
