The German Grand Prix officially called the “Formula 1 Mercedes-Benz Grober Preis von Deutschland 2019” held on 28 July 2019. The event happened at Baden-Württemberg, Germany in the Hockenheimring close Hockenheim. Mercedes F1 declared that they could be conducting a livery in tribute to their legacy as celebrating their 125th year of competing in motorsport with the group, and their F1 start.
It was also the 11th round of 21 in the 2019 Formula One World Championship, the 78th running of the German Grand Prix along with the time it was conducted as a member of the World Championship since the 1950 season.
In addition to the livery, Mercedes F1 even needed a unique uniform for all its team. The race was awarded as the best race of this decade.
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes F1 held a lead of 39 and 164 points in the drivers’ and constructors’ championships respectively. Mercedes maintained its dominance heading into the weekend. Lewis Hamilton and Valterri Bottas clinched 3rd and 1st place on the grid in Saturday’s qualifying session.
The miseries to get Ferrari continued. Sebastian Vettel failed to set a time that was Q1 over the 107% requirement but was given permission to race in the stewards’ discretion. He also obtained a 10-place grid penalty for a third Control Electronics (CE) and started the race from the rear of the grid.
Lewis Hamilton was the favorite to win the race but destiny had something else in store for him. The five-time world that is reigning winners pride themselves leaving nothing to chance, but their composure broke.
Moreover, Lewis Hamilton was nursing a bug that he later admitted had left him physically and emotionally drained. Team main Toto Wolff stated: “there’s a flu going round in the paddock and he was not feeling good. ” After that Mercedes said he was overburdened since sooner in the week.
Lewis Hamilton slid across the area and ran wide. He hit on the wall and damaged his front wing. Seconds later, he violated the rules and turned in the pits. As a result, he was given a time penalty by stewards.
What followed was a comedy of mistake when Mercedes F1 pit crew found themselves helpless. They were spotted running around to find a replacement wing along with the correct pair of tires, bumping into each other in the procedure. This led to a 50 minutes pit stop for Mercedes F1. When he tried to pursue Lance Stroll Valtteri Bottas crashed to the wall.
There were rumors surrounding the filming of Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season two after the chaos which happened with all the Mercedes F1. The Silver Arrows granted access for a single weekend this year, although Ferrari or both Mercedes F1 barred Netflix from filming at the 2018 series.
“I will not be in the Netflix series much, because I had been sick the entire time, I will not permit them to release that. ” Hamilton stated.
Lately, Mercedes F1 cleared the air surrounding the rumors and has come outside. The team while answering a fan said” We have heard this rumor a few times! There is a whole episode about us in Germany and Lewis is at it”
