One of the freshest and young companies to enter Indian Market, yes we are talking about MG (Morris & Garages). MG is a British automotive marque also known as M.G. Car Company Limited is one of the most popular British sports car manufacturers and well known for its sports utility vehicle. Best known for its ‘midget’ open two-seater sports cars, MG also produces coupe and Mid-sized SUV’s.

The company is also engaged in the production of mid-sized engines with a capacity up to three liters in size. The company is now owned by Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor Corporation Limited.

This time MG has revealed its first electric vehicle in the market which is MG ZS EV. The company revealed that the ZS EV will be offered in two variants: Excite and Exclusive.

MG unwrapped this all-electric SUV on December 5 in India. As per our expectation, the model is expected to launch in January 2020.

While still a month is left for the model to run on roads, the company has opened it’s official bookings which already began from December 21 by submitting a token amount of Rs 50,000 on the companies website. According to company officials, the model will be first available in five cities initially which are Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmadabad and Bengaluru.

Keeping in mind the pollution level of the country, the model’s air conditioner comes with an inbuilt PM 2.5 filter to keep air quality of the car under check, which is the innovation by the company. Talking about the drivetrain, the ZS EV is powered by an all-electric motor capable of producing 143PS and 353Nm.

The power is drawn from a 44.2kWh battery pack. The company also claims that it’s capable of taking you 340km on a single charge. The battery pack is equipped with a fast charger that is capable of charging the battery from 0 to 80 % in 30 minutes.

The major rivals of MG ZS Ev are expected to be Hyundai Kona EV, which is expected to be launching somewhat late as compare to ZS Ev, but it will be quite interesting to note, which company will gain the most of customer’s attention.
