Middleweight Honda Africa Twin adventure tourer to feature a 790cc engine

Honda is currently working on a brand new, lower-displacement iteration of the Africa Twin adventure tourer, and the motorcycle is currently under development. We stumbled upon radar patent images that revealed two models that would comprise a CRF1100L. Presently, a new report asserts that the middleweight Africa Twin will come equipped with an engine.

The source report adds that the bike will be an evolution of the NC series, which contains the NC750X along with the NC750S. The engine will comply with the Euro5 emission norms while getting an increase in torque and power output. Honda employed a similar plan whilst updating the litre-class Africa Twin (CRF1000L into CRF1100L) during the Euro5 transition.

Comparable to the bigger Africa Twin (CRF1100L), the middleweight model will reportedly feature two gearbox choices — Manual and Double Clutch Transmission (DCT). Honda’s existing series employs a DCT gearbox.

In terms of design, the middleweight Honda Africa Twin should draw inspiration and come equipped with a twin-pod headlight, lean styling and a digital instrument cluster. Cycle parts should match the rivals in the section and the middleweight Africa Twin should come equipped with a single rotor in the rear, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, dual discs in the front, front forks and an electronic package.

Similar to the Africa Twin CRF1100L, the middleweight ADV version should be introduced by Honda and produce the motorcycle more accessible. The new Africa Twin CRF1100L Adventure Sports, for instance, is available at Rs 15,35,000 (Guide ) and Rs 16,10,000 (DCT) in the Indian market.
