With the 2021 Lexus IS sedan being postponed, we now have a new date for the launch. The June 9 date has now been shifted to June 15 at 7 PM EDT. If you are keen on the luxury sedan segment, do watch the launch.
Lexus had earlier teased the global launch with a rear LED light cluster of a new vehicle, which was Lexus IS 350F Sport. Now the latest short video teaser adds in more detail about the upcoming vehicle. These include one unbroken LED strip that wraps around the outer taillight assemblies and stretches across the trunk. As we said the silver model shown was the same 350 F Sport. That’s the top of the current IS lineup, though Lexus has introduced a V8-powered IS F before.
Also, the rumors of a more model have been surface that won’t carry the F badge but will be called IS 500. As far as the drivetrain is concerned, the current Lexus IS 350 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine and IS 300, which currently packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit. The upcoming powerful model, “IS 500” could have a 5.0-liter V8 engine.
The new Lexus sedan will be competing with luxury sedans like Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class. It will also take on the new, redesigned Acura TLX and performance variant.
