The Kia Carnival is reaching to town very soon– to New York City, specifically. The next generation will debut in April at this year’s New York motor show.
The recently designed Carnival will move to the platforms underpinning the upcoming 2020 Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima. This clearly signifies that it will carry a hybrid option for the US market.
Currently, Chrysler Pacifica is the only hybrid that is an available fora people mover. Till now, No hybrid MPVs are available in Australia. Only, the much smaller Toyota Prius Vise available.
Features
Hence, it is very clear that Redesign Kia Sorento will feature a hybrid option.
If it is similar to the hybrid powertrain to that of 2020 Sonata Hybrid, this means that a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine of 2.0 liter will be mated to an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission, which will supply a combined output of 143kW.
Since, Carnival is a large people mover,Kia may opt to employ a significant powerful petrol engine with its hybrid, potentially a turbocharged1.6litere four-cylinder. Although, the rival Pacifica Hybrid, uses a3.6litere V6 engine.
The current car’s naturally-aspirated 3.3litere V6 is expected to make way for the new Theta-III turbocharged2.5litere four-cylinder which will soon appear in the Genesis G70 and GV80 and Hyundai Sonata N-Line.
That’s a decent bump from the current3.3-liters, which produces 206kW and 336Nmt’s not yet clear whether the current van’s 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder will carry over.
Carnival will also feature a strong familial resemblance to the Soul up front, as well as long, horizontal LED daytime running lights similar to that on the Kia Seltos GT-Line.
It is very clear that the current Carnival is dominant in Australia ina people mover.
Launching Date and Price
Sinc, Kia-Carnival has only shared their concept. It is difficult to predict it’s the price. Although, the car may launch this year in April.
