One of Volkswagen’s cheapest SUVs, T-Roc Cabriolet Revealed, not only a little bit handsome

Recently, Volkswagen announced the official map of its small SUV, the T-ROC Cabriolet (hoodless version). The new car will be available in regular (blue) and R-Line (white) models, with a two-door four-seat, soft-top convertible structure, expected to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show and overseas at the beginning of 2020.

Compared to the hardtop version, the convertible version has a length of 34mm and a wheelbase of 37mm. Considering the impact of the convertible structure on the body strength, the main structure of the body is additionally enhanced.

In the front part of the car, the design of the two versions is not much different. They all use the ring daytime running lights and the hexagonal air intake grille, but the design style of the details is different. The regular version and the R-Line have different designs in the front bumper style, and the R-Line version is decorated with exclusive badges.

On the side of the body, the R-Line is decorated with a badge on the fender, the wheel is larger in size, and the black plastic surround on the lower edge of the door is also changed to the same color.

The T-ROC Cabriolet’s soft-top convertible structure can be opened or closed in about 9 seconds, and the double-door shape with frameless windows makes the convertible version sportier than the hardtop version.

The difference in the rear is also not big. The taillights are designed with a hardtop model. The rear bumper design details of the two versions of the convertible are different. The rear R-Line is equipped with a black ducktail. The rear wing of the model is designed in the same color as the body. Both versions have high brake lights on the rear wing.

In terms of power and interior, the regular version uses three multi-function steering wheels. The official image capture vehicle uses the same interior trim, fabric seat, and full LCD instrument. The transmission system is a 6-speed manual transmission. According to the information released by the car, it is speculated that this is an entry-level version with a 1.0T engine, and its maximum output is 113 hp.

The R-Line features three flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheels for a sportier look, while the black interior is complemented by a metallic lustrous interior trim, black leather seats and diamond-shaped stitching that are more combat-like than the regular version. In terms of powertrain, the car uses a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 148 horsepower and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

In terms of practicality, since the convertible structure encroaches on the part of the trunk space, the trunk volume of the T-ROC convertible version is significantly reduced, which can only meet the daily use requirements, and has a large gap between the practicality and the space flexibility of the hardtop model.
