One of them is directly linked to another, although Disney is currently working on two Pirates of the six movies.
Disney is presently focusing on two different Pirates of the Caribbean 6 movies, but neither one of them is directly connected to the other. The Mouse House’s theme park ride-turned swashbuckling adventure series has grossed some $4.5 billion over the course of five movies, making it (easily) the studio’s most lucrative in-house live-action franchise in the past two decades. At precisely the same time, the land has suffered from falling returns of late, with 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales making mediocre reviews on its way to becoming the 2nd lowest-grossing Pirates films to date.
Obviously, Dead Men Tell No Tales still made $794.9 million at the box office, so it’s nothing like the franchise is dead in the water. Far from it, Disney has kept busy in the three years since trying to figure out a way to keep the action-adventure brand while reversing its downward trend going, both critically and commercially. The studio originally approached Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to work on a reboot of the property in 2018. Still, the group didn’t get very far before officially stepping down a couple of weeks later.
Nobody has signed for the cast of the sequel that was sixth, but we expect Johnny Depp to restart his position as Captain Jack Sparrow. But rumors are being shifted and Zac Efron assuming the lead role. Another news suggests that Emma Watson was pitched for the role, but nothing was confirmed. Kevin McNally and Kaya Scodelario, Javier Bardem, and Geoffrey Rush will possibly make a comeback. A couple of faces and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will soon be joining the cast for the sequel.
The sixth installment will be a follow up to the Dead Men Tell No Tales that had a global premiere on May 26, 2017.
The producer Jerry Bruckheimer has suggested that another sequel is being proposed up to be provided for approval, and the production and the screenplay may be in early phases of development. This implies that we will not have to see it, and if things proceed on track, it could get a launch in 2022-2023.
In the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Jack Sparrow could have been known as the lord. Later we come to understand he is one of those nine lords that are a star. It takes two pirate lords to bind Calypso, and these nine star Lords need to get together by presenting the”Six Pieces of Eight.”
