Pirates Of The Caribbean 6: Release Date, Cast, Plot And Other Update

Pirates of the Caribbean is a popular pirate fantasy series of swashbuckler films based on one of Disneyland’s main attraction by the same name. The films narrate the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley).

The first film in a series of five, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, premiered in 2003. After its success, the franchise’s second film, subtitled Dead Man’s Chest, released in 2006. The third film, At World’s End, followed in 2007. Subtitled On Stranger Tides, the fourth film released in 2011. The fifth installment, Dead Men Tell No Tales, released in 2017.

Critics appreciate the series for its high-quality acting, and one of a kind visual and practical effects. The franchise has grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide. It is the 14th highest-grossing film series of all time.

EXPECTED PLOT

The makers are yet to complete the script for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Creators have been quiet about the details. Many say that the sixth movie is a reboot. This implies we’ll see everything starting newly using a similar idea yet with a more seasoned group and storyline. Also, rumors are that Disney wanted a female-driven story.

THE CAST

With rumours growing in, some sources claim that the makers have decided to make a female lead this time. In October 2017, Kaya Scodelario stated that she signed a contract to return for a sixth film. Shortly after, we confirmed that Rønning will direct the movie. In May 2020, there were reports that the studio was considering Karen Gillan, Daisy Ridley, and Emma Watson for the female lead. The big question of Depp’s involvement remains unanswered. However, we speculate that Captain Jack Sparrow might have a minor role.

WHEN WILL PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 6 RELEASE?

The sixth installment of the franchise was declared right after the release of the fourth film. Except for Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End (filmed back-to-back in 2005), a four to five-year wait between consecutive movies has been the norm.

This would mean a 2022-23 release, but the makers haven’t confirmed anything as of now. Stay tuned for more updates.
