Pirates of the Caribbean 6: Release Date, Plot, Cast And Should Kill Off Captain Jack Sparrow

Disney is seeking to take Pirates of the Caribbean in new leadership with Pirates of the Caribbean 6, but instead of reboot it should bring back – and – kill off – Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow. Pirates of the Caribbean has been a flagship franchise for Disney because it set sail back in 2003, with a collective box office haul of over $4.5 billion over the five films released thus far, also Depp firmly established as the surface of the collection.

But while the box office for Pirates of the Caribbean has forced it into something of a guaranteed hit for the Mouse House, the fifth installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, did represent a considerable drop-off in that respect, with a total of just under $800 million making it the second-lowest in the franchise, behind only the first film. Alongside this, there were decreasing returns in terms of the critical approval of the films, with a sharp and then more steady decrease in reviews since the Curse of the Black Pearl.

Release date

In 2018, Sean Bailey, Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production’s President, said he wanted to provide the franchise a”kick in the pants” and the studio wished to bring in new energy for the sixth film. There were speculations that the movie is a reboot of the franchise. There has been no confirmation about the release date as yet. The previous films were published in May or July and the last 3 movies dominated Memorial Day Weekend, and it appears possible that the sixth movie would be released on the same date in maybe 2022-2023, but nothing is sure.

But despite being box office successes,’Pirates’ movies are contested by critics and many fans alike, leading to a decrease in the appeal of this franchise, so it is hard to say whether Disney will hazard hiring Depp again and again confront more backlash. All signs point to him playing with a role. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had stated that he would keep the door open for him.

Meanwhile, actress Kaya Scodelario revealed that she’s going to be in the film, and would be interested in returning. Bill Nighy also stated that he would not mind playing with the iconic villain Davy Jones. Lee Arenberg, who played the pirate Pintel, is another past cast member that will look in all likelihood.
