Production Set for Italjet Dragster Scooter

The revolutionary and avant-garde Italjet Dragster is set to come into production from May 2020, but it will not be on sale in India.

Italian scooter maker Italjet is all set to start production of the Italjet Dragster 2020 from May 2020 onwards. The Italjet Dragster will offer in two engines configurations-either a four-stroke 125 cc or 200cc, and sales scheduled in the second half of 2020. There is hub steering at the front, with a horizontally mounted dynamic shock, instead of the conventional forks.

Then suitably complements the revolutionary then-innovative style with the exposed trellis frame, finished in a variety of glossy colors.

With a peak torque of 12.5 Nm coming in at 7,750rpm. The 125 cc variant has a maximum output of 14.9 bhp at 10,000rpm. The Dragster 125 works on a mix of front 12-inch and rear 13-inch wheel with front disk brake of 175 mm and rear disk brake of 240 mm with CBS. The weight of kerb measured at 108 kilograms.

The 200 cc version pushes out a maximum power of 19.8 bhp at 8.250rpm, with a peak torque of 17 Nm coming in at 6.250rpm. Wheels and brakes are the same as the 125cc, but 200 cc comes with single-channel ABS and 112 kg of kerb weight.

Italjet sees Germany and the UK as the biggest markets for the Dragster. But claims it will be available in a variety of markets around the world. Although it expects the Dragster to make it to some Asian markets, India not considered for now.

That is comprehensible. The Dragster will be a costly proposition for a price-sensitive market like India without local assembly or manufacturing.

While there is no doubt that the Dragster 125 and 200 will make their way to some Asian markets. Because of the high price point, India does not seem to be on the list.

125cc scooters, especially in a market like ours, not meant to very stylish or middle looking!

Italian scooter maker Italjet though thinks otherwise and has revealed the Dragster 2020.
