Resident Evil 8 Cast, Plot, Launch Date And Game News

During Sony’s PS5 reveal event today, Capcom quelled Resident Evil rumors by announcing a brand-new entry in the storied franchise, also known as Resident Evil Village. It’s headed to PlayStation 5 in 2021. The match is set in a-you guessed it-village, even though we saw several different places, including a castle, storm, and a few houses that were neighboring. It’s verified that Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan is back, as well as that game’s first-person view. It is Resident Evil 8; the official name is damned.

Resident Evil 8: what seems to be a witch and Village trailer also gave us a look at some of the creatures and the characters, including a werewolf-looking being. Resident Evil celebrity Chris Redfield also looked, even though he will not be enjoying the protagonist this time around.

Capcom took to the PlayStation Blog to talk a bit more about RE8: Village, where the studio confirmed that the survival-horror name uses its RE Engine-most recently employed on Resident Evil 7, Devil May Cry 5, and Resident Evil 3-to include life to its surroundings. Capcom also confirmed that Resident Evil 8: Village is a”next-gen experience” takes place a few years after the events of RE7: Biohazard, and highlights exploration and combat over its predecessors. As in RE7, you play as Ethan Winters, who’s gone back to his healthy life with his wife, Mia, following the events of the game. As per a developer video published by Capcom, Chris is”the reason Ethan’s life has turned upside-down.” From the trailer, it sure seems like Chris shows around murder Mia, which is the incident that sends Ethan to the village in the first place.

The previous two Resident Evil games have been Resident Evil two and Resident Evil 3 remakes, both in third-person. Before this, Resident Evil 7 released and shifted the series to a first-person perspective.

While it had been declared during Sony’s PS5 occasion, the official Resident Evil 8: Village website states it is also coming to PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X. It’s also worth noting that the site explicitly explains the 2021 launch window is”tentative,” meaning it is subject to change. The studio will offer an additional update on the game this August.
