Based on Vikram Chandra’s novel,’ Sacred Games’ is a Netflix Original show that investigates the criminal underbelly of Mumbai. The show revolves around Ganesh Gaitonde, a juvenile offense lord, who contacts Sartaj, an ordinary police officer, to discuss something important. Sartaj is unaware that this brief encounter will open a can of worms. As the story progresses, it ends up Sartaj and Gaitonde are only mere pawns in a huge cataclysmic plan that introduces an existential threat for a whole city.
‘Sacred Games’ is directed and produced by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. The first season of the offense thriller was published on July 5, 2018, in more than 190 countries. Moreover, in a meeting, Nawazuddin Siddiqui hinted that season 3 of’Sacred Games’ is most likely not happening because there’s absolutely no material left to pay. Sacred Games Plot: What is it About?
Tired of this corruption in the police department, an ordinary mid-century policeman, Sartaj Singh, genuinely wants to curb crime. However, he hates that his profession has got such a bad reputation. He gets an opportunity to do something noteworthy when he receives a call from the fugitive gangster Ganesh Gaitonde. Sartaj tracks him down while they are on call, but before he can arrest himGaitonde dies by suicide. Nevertheless, his death is merely the start of a long narrative. Before his passing, Gaitonde had notified Sartaj to save his city in 25 days.
The clues left behind from the gang god warn of the coming doom. In season 1, Sartaj tries to unravel the wicked schemes of their extremists. At the same time, he attempts to figure out Gaitonde’s relationship with his dad. In the second season, he ultimately finds out that the Ashram that his father used to visit is filled with extremists that want to create a conflict-free world with their apocalyptic plans. It’s also shown that Gaitonde was trapped in Kenya by RAW for the safety of Suleiman. They share a long-rivalry that started when Gaitonde stole Suleiman’s mistress Kukoo.
Since their competition poses a danger for Suleiman, RAW decided to maintain Gaitonde as far from him as possible. Suleiman is vital for RAW because he could be used as bait to capture Shahid Khan, a terrorist who plans to wipe out India. The last episode of season 2 consequences fans by revealing that Shahid Khan is Sartaj Singh’s cousin. The series ends on a cliffhanger as Sartaj attempts to find out the pattern to diffuse the atomic bomb setup by Shahid. The end proves that holy Game’ is without a doubt one of the most promising open-ended shows in recent years.
