Among the various rafts of rules put up by Formula 1, there were some particular rules to be looked upon. The aerodynamic testing regulation was a brand new sliding scale rule. And it is meant to help level the playing field among the participant teams of Formula 1. And for the next season, the amount of aero testing will be basically determined by their position in the championship of the previous year. In this, the champions will get the fewest wind tunnel while the 10th placed team will have the most.
And looking at the new regulations, we may say Mercedes finding itself handicapped. As they truly have dominated the Championship since 2014. But we hear different tones from James Allision, the technical head. According to him, the new rules will bring about a different aspect to look at 2022 season pecking. It shall be highly influenced by the team’s performance this year.
And as these rules will be applied in 2021, they shall consider races from 2022. As for in 2021, they are going to run the same cars brought and frozen from 2020. The significant time of 2021 is going to bring out cars for the 2022 regulations. It will consist of the majority of the inputs. The regulations may not seem tough as they cast a large shadow. SO, how aerodynamics you take in 2022 is totally what you do in 2020 races. That will be the significance- but remember- for 2022.
