While the Shazam sequel has stalled generation on account of the epidemic, news drops that the project will be back, and Marta Milans will indeed be a part of the cast.
“Frankly, I had been talking to our writers and advised them to do anything they need,” Milans told LRM online. “But, be sure Mama Rosa has her cape, and she can fly. I want to fly at the sequel,” she exclusively told LRM Online. “I don’t know whether they’ll listen to me. I don’t know whether they will listen to me. I don’t know if they will give me a cape, but Mama Rosa will be present.”
She continued, “From the movie, all my children fly. As one of the powers, I’d like to fly .”
Milan will be Mama Rosa Vasquez, the mother to the family of new superheroes, who acquired their superpowers from the 2019 film.
It’s no surprise that she provided no details on a narrative, but points to the source material.
“At the close of the afternoon, it is based on the comics- but loosely based on the comics. There has been a lot of freedom as much as what we have been doing. It is like the first books, but maybe not word for word. There is quite a lot of space for a new experience,” Milans clarified.
Director David F. Sandberg contributes to helm the untitled sequel with Henry Gayden penning the script.
Zachary Levi, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Asher Angel are expected to return to their roles, in addition to the adult superhero variations played by Adam Brody (Freddy), Michelle Borth (Mary), Ross Butler (Eugene), DJ Cotrona (Pedro) and Meagan Good (Darla).
Shazam 2 is scheduled for theatres on November 4th of 2022.
