Skoda has confirmed that its electric SUV, the brand model designed as an EV from the ground up, will be known as Enyaq.
Derived from the Irish name Enya, meaning ‘source of life’, the title Proceeds the ‘Q’ subject of the existing combustion SUVs such as Karoq, the Kamiq and Kodiaq of Skoda. The ‘E’ is supposedly a reference.
The Enyaq will be the production version of Skoda’s Vision iV concept, which was revealed last season. It is going to go on the market with Skoda promising at least ten models will start beneath the iV sub-brand by the end of 2022.
The 4.66m-long crossover is based on the VW Group’s MEB platform and, in theory form, uses an EV powertrain that provides a selection and the ability to bill up to 80% in half an hour.

Both versions will probably be based on the electric-only of the Volkswagen Group MEB platform, which is used across all the company’s brands.
