Spenser Confidential premiered on Netflix on Friday, March 6, and it is already one of the most popular movies on Netflix.
After viewing the movie, fans all around the world are discussing their hopes for a sequel to this Netflix original film.
We certainly want to see Winston Duke, Mark Wahlberg, Iliza Shlesinger, and Alan Arkin back for a sequel, and Netflix will make that happen.
It does not seem like there aren’t any significant plans at this time, but according to a report by the LA Times, all the notable players are considering doing a sequel! That’s excellent news for fans of the movie.
Below we discussed the expected release for Spenser Confidential 2 and a few probable storylines for the sequel.
Release Date
Assuming that a sequel is arranged, it’s probably going to be quite a while before we see Spenser Confidential 2. There’s so much that has to happen to receive the sequel. All the editing, filming has to occur, and the script needs to be written and marketing. That’s not including any negotiations that have to take place with crew staff and the celebrities.
At the earliest, it is going to be the spring of 2022 before we see Spenser Confidential 2. Unless Wahlberg, Duke, and others had deals for a sequel before the release of this first movie, it’s going to be a while to get all that worked out.
We have not seen several Netflix sequels, but there have been delays between the first movie and the movie for the films we’ve seen. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before had about an 18-month gap between films. We’re still waiting on Intelligent 2 starring Will Smith, which premiered on Netflix in December 2017.
In the first, anticipate a gap between the films. Again, this is supposing Netflix dictates the sequel.
What Happens Next
I believe most of us want to visit Henry, Hawk, Cissy and Spenser exploring another crime. We caught a glimpse of something going down with a fire chief after the movie. That seems interesting.
However, I think that the writers can come up with something a little better. I enjoyed Spenser and Hawk investigating dirty cops. There is? This appears to be an excellent place to get started.
I enjoy the group that has been constructed with Henry and Cissy assisting Spenser and Hawk. If they continued to crack instances, It’d be great, and we can catch up with them a couple of years down the street.
Also, I wonder whether any loose ends with this instance have to be tied up. It’d be intriguing to determine if Driscoll wasn’t pulling strings. That person wants revenge on the squad and Spenser.
