Sonequa Martin-Green will be returning to play Michael Burnham. She will be joined by cast members such as David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Wilson Cruz (Hugh Culber), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), and Doug Jones (Saru), among many others. Season 3’s arrival was officially announced in February 2019. Filming began in July 2019, in Canada and the production was completed by February 2020. Where Season 2 had 14 episodes, this season will have thirteen episodes. The third season was at first expected to air by the first half of 2020. However, this may have been pushed back due to the current state of the world.
