Season 4 of this series has released just nearly one month past i.e., on 26 April 2020 though there is no news about when the show will come back with a new year.
However, The Last Kingdom Nigel Merchant’s executive producer was noted stating they are optimistic about a possible season 5. So we could be ensured that season 5 is occurring for sure.
Because there is no official news regarding the casting of the upcoming season, but there are several guesses about the cast.
Alexander Dreymon, whom we’d last seen as Uhtred of Bebbanburg, could be back in year 5.
Emily Cox might reprise her role as Brida. She had been last seen giving birth by herself. Mark Rowley, Ewan Mitchell, and Arnas Fedaravičius may also be returning since they all have very significant roles to play as Uhtred’s allies.
In the last season, Uhtred trying to reclaim his ancestral territories had been seen by us. But things went severely wrong, resulting in the death of a friend.
Uhtred was affected by the entire incident. So in season 5, he might be avenging his loss as well as laying claim on his lands.
