It’s been decades in the making, but it looks like The Sandman might finally make it to the small screen shortly, coronavirus.
, With Netflix ordering a run, A few tries to accommodate the iconic DC Comics series of Neil Gaiman for the display have been made since the 90s.
And there has not been much information on the job other than its change of setting to the present day from the 80s — until now.
In response to a fan question, Gaiman wrote on Tumblr: “It is going very well, but it’s hibernating right now until people begin making TV again. The scripts to the season are composed, casting had started, directors hired, sets were built.
“Everything was prepared to enter production; then we moved to a pause. As soon as the world is ready to earn TV drama, Sandman will move back into being made.”

Now there’s some fantastic news.
Gaiman had revealed that the series would follow the events of Preludes & Nocturnes, the very first hardback volume in the series.
Though no castings have been verified, Gaiman has also stated that the appearance of the Sandman himself Dream (who also goes by Morpheus, Oneiros, and lots of other people ) would always change. From the comics, Dream’s appearance changes depending on who’s currently looking at him.
Coronavirus may have postponed production, but that doesn’t mean Gaiman has ceased working on the series: “In the meantime, we are taking the opportunity to acquire the scripts as great as possible.”
