The Umbrella Academy Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot And Much More

As befitting a show whose entire plot rests on all that time-wimey material (thanks, Number Five!), the next season of The Umbrella Academy will be a season piece. Netflix has released pictures plus a synopsis, and it seems like our dysfunctional family of ex-child-superheroes has been taking a vacation back.

When we saw the Hargreeveses, they’d failed to stop the apocalypse of Vanya/The White Violin. Left without any option, they chose to use the abilities to return into an unidentified time of Number Five, ending the season on a cliff-hanger that was ginormous. It wasn’t just as simple as reverting to their (dreadful ) childhoods and starting over. Instead, they have been delivered by the time-travel back to more than two decades ahead of their birth that was auspicious. And not only that, but they’re all stuck in different years…

Five is the final to land, smack dab amid doomsday, which! – ends up is due to the group’s disruption of the deadline (déjà vu, anyone?). The Umbrella Academy must discover a way to reunite, figure out what triggered doomsday, set a stop to it now, and return to the current timeline to prevent that apocalypse—all while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins.
