The lengthy, low-slung Vulcan goes like a cruiser and looks, and is by no means a ride. But once you get the hang of it, the Vulcan comes off as a nimble handler. The 27.8-inch seat height is perfect for new riders. It also comes in Reduced Reach — three distinct layouts, Mid Reach, and Extended Reach, to accommodate riders from over and between 5-6 ft.
3. Harley-Davidson Street 500 (MSRP: $6,899)
The on sale in the United States weighs 500 lbs. That’s quite a lot because cruisers are thick, but you would have to get used to such numbers. Like all cruisers, the Street has a seat height and 500 is low-slung. Under the seat, the motor is a 494cc, fuel-injected V-twin with loads of torque.
4. KTM RC 390
The RC 390 is the Duke 390’s faired variant. However, the similarities end there. The RC is harder, faster and sharper. And, the single-cylinder that is 373cc creates energy. The RC was picked by many as a regular track day tool. With this bike, you can race on Sunday, sail Monday. A word of warning, however. It’s not the most dependable bike you can purchase.
