Toyota Racing Development also known as TRD is in-house tuning shop for all Toyota, Lexus and formerly Scion cars.
TRD is responsible both for improving street cars for more performance and supporting Toyota’s racing interests around the world.
TRD is responsible for production of tuning parts and accessories, including it’s high performance gears and racing type suspension gears and components, wheel base, superchargers for it’s racing sports utility vehicles.
Performance parts for the Lexus vehicles are labelled as F-Sports and performance Lexus models. As of June 2013 there are currently two branches of TRD: TRD Japan/Toyota Technocraft and TRD USA.
TRD Japan’s Race Division concentrates on the super GT Series, All-Japan Formula Three Championship series, ESSO formula Toyota series, and Netz cup races.
TRD USA’s race division, known as ‘Toyota racing’, competes in NASCAR and other top races across the globe. TRD USA was responsible for development of engines for the Eagle HF89/90 and Eagle MKIII grand touring prototypes.
TRD offers bolt-on headers, sport mufflers, and cat-back exhausts, cold air intakes. Suspension equipment includes coilovers, springs, dampers and struts, and wheel upgrades as well.
Now coming to the verdict, TRD is currently preparing for a SUPRA event that’s been cranked up and draws inspiration from a classic Supra Concept.
The Supra 3000GT concept seems to look very special. The newly build bonnet gives an intense look with it’s newly designed aggressive triangular vents, and an upgraded inline-six cylinder engines.
Much of the information regarding the concept is still a mystery to be revealed, but still according to leaks and rumours, the concept features an aggressively-vented bonnet and pumped-up fenders at the back.
To give the model a classic look, the wheel is made with 90’s five-spoke wheels. The company is rumoured to limit it’s production to a very limited numbers.
The 3000GT is reported to get a unique front bumper, a carbon-fibre and SUPRA’s inspired non-functional door vents, and an improvised side skirts and a rear bumper with an aggressive diffuser and side panel.
With 19 inch forged-aluminium wheels from TWS motorsport which are lighter and stronger than the Supra’s stock wheels .
