Volkswagen discontinued the 5-seater Tiguan SUV sometime back in India. After this, the company launched a 7 seater version of this car. Now the Tiguan 5 seater version is coming back in the Indian market. Now this car will be assembled in India. That is, this car will be ‘Made in India’. Earlier this car used to come with only diesel engine. The company can launch this car in India by the end of this year.
Will get the petrol engine
Earlier this car used to come with only diesel engine option. Since the company has not upgraded its diesel engine to BS6, this car will now come with a 1.5-liter TSI turbo petrol engine. This engine generates 150bhp power and 250Nm torque.
7 seater is Tiguan’s current model
The starting price of this car is Rs 33.13 lakh. The Tiguan Allspace is the 7 seater version of the regular Tiguan in India. Tiguan has been available in the Indian market for quite some time. The new BS6 Volkswagen Tiguan is 215mm longer than the old 5 seater model. The exterior styling of the car has also been tweaked. The car has new LED projector headlamps, redesigned grille, more sporty bumpers and a larger 18 inch spoke alloy wheel.
BS-6 Standard Petrol Engine
The new Tiguan Allspace has a 110mm extra wheelbase. The width of the car is as much as 1839mm. The height of the car has been changed. The company has increased the height of the car by 2mm. Now the height of the car is 1674mm. The company has launched this car with a BS6 petrol engine. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSi turbo petrol engine has 187bhp power and 320Nm torque. A 7-speed DSG (DCT) automatic transmission has been given with the engine. Apart from this, this car comes with an all-wheel-drive system.
