Yamaha Majesty S 155cc maxi-scooter unveiled-More powerful than Aprilia SXR 160

Japan has got a new 155 cc maxi-scooter-Yamaha Highness S. It’s much more powerful than the Aprilia 160 SXR which will be launched in India this August.

Yamaha Majesty S Features and Style:

One of the main aspects of the Yamaha Highness S is its style. Yamaha has done a brilliant job of making this scooter look very sporty. The Majesty S sports a trendy apron-mounted LED headlight with a high-beam projector and a traditional low-beam reflector. There are also a few LED DRL strips available. So, the left-turn signals are mounted on either left of the headlight.

The profile of the Highness S is very enticing thanks to the arrangement of the cover, which gives the appearance of a high-rise neck. Interestingly, the alloy wheels and the black-out side-mounted exhaust help preserve the aesthetic appeal of the scooter. At the back of the Yamaha Highness S, there’s a sporty LED taillight, side turn signs, and a pillion catch board.

The Majesty S also comes with a sporty three-pole semi-digital instrument cluster. It’s in the centre of the tachometer. The tell-tale lights are on the left along with the fuel meter. On the right, there is a panel that displays things such as speedometer, tachometer, clock, etc.

Yamaha Majesty S Features:

The Majesty S draws power from a single-cylinder4-valve engine of 155 cc. This is a water-cooled unit that comes with a fuel injection feature. It was designed to produce 11 kW or 15 hp of maximum power and 14 Nm of maximum torque. So, Yamaha says that this engine is capable of achieving a fuel economy of 40 km / l.

The Aprilia 160 SXR fitted with a 160 cc single-cylinder, 3-valve FI engine that produces 11,01 hp at 7,600 rpm and so 11,6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

In Japan, the price of Yamaha Majesty S was JPY 3,45,000 (excluding taxes) or INR 2,38 lakh*. It is available in four colors options-Silky White, Metallic Brown, Metallic Black, and Bright Yellow. So, the Majesty S will enter the showrooms on 10 April 2020 if the existing COVID-19 condition permits.
