Maruti Suzuki Swift has completed 15 years in the country. Swift, which was launched in 2005, has sold over 2.2 million units to date. At the same time, there are reports that the Swift can be equipped with a powerful engine. Swift is facing a tough challenge from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and this car comes with a turbo engine.
The current third-generation Swift was introduced to the Swift at the 2018 Auto Expo. Maruti also updated this car to the BS6 engine. At the same time, the company can now offer a 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine in it. This engine is also available in the premium hatchback Maruti Baleno.
Equipped with a smart hybrid system
The specialty of a 1.2-liter dual jet engine is that this car is equipped with Smart SHVS i.e. Maruti Smart Hybrid System. In which torque assist is available and more mileage is available. At the same time, if this engine comes in Maruti Swift, then it will become more powerful after the introduction of a dual jet engine. The dualjet engine gives 89 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque.
1.3 liter Fiat diesel engine discontinued
Maruti may launch this engine in the coming months. Earlier, the BS4 engine came with Swift petrol and diesel engines, but Maruti discontinued the 1.3 liter Fiat diesel engine after the BS6 standard came. The BS6 Swift now comes with a 1.2-liter VVT petrol engine, which gives 82 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine comes in an AMT gearbox with a manual.
Mileage of 24.12 kilometers per liter!
If the Swift comes in a dual jet powertrain, it will get a 12v mild-hybrid system. It can come with start-stop technology, which can help increase fuel efficiency and mileage. The mileage of the Swift Dualjet engine will be equal to that of the Dzire Dualjet. The 1.2-liter dual-jet engine in the Dzire returns 23.26 km in the manual transmission and 24.12 km in the AMT (automatic) transmission. The current model of the Swift features a 1.2-liter K12B petrol engine with a mileage of 21.21 kilometers per liter.
