2021 will have Volkswagen Touareg and VW Tiguan R in the lineup

Volkswagen looks to be hot rolling out new vehicles continuously. The recent unveiling of Arteon and the shooting brake version was quite a success, and VW doesn’t want that hype to cool off that easy. How do we know?? Let’s just answer this question with two new vehicles announced by the VW for 2021.

2021 Volkswagen Touareg

The latest version of VW Touareg is here and here are all the trims and the pricing before we go through the models’ details.

  • Touareg 170TDI – $81,490
  • Touareg 210TDI Elegance – $99,490
  • Touareg 210TDI R-Line – $108,490
  • Touareg V8 TDI R-Line – $136,490

Ahead of the showroom debut in October, these trims have been announced VW. The 190TDI V6 has been dropped from the Touareg line-up, with a new Euro 6 compliant 3.0-liter V6 diesel powering 170TDI, 210TDI Elegance, and 210TDI R-Line variants. A Bentley-sourced 4.0-liter diesel V8 motivates the range-topping Touareg V8 TDI R-Line.

All these variants have a standard all-wheel-drive system, and the engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic engine. The 2021 VW Touareg also replaces the previous 75L tanks with a 90L one with 24L AdBlue Tank.

AdBlue is an ammonia-based fluid that is sprayed into the exhaust, turning harmful emissions into steam. For complete details of each variant, visit our friend, Caradvice.com

2021 Volkswagen Tiguan R

Another addition to the 2021 lineup is the VW Tiguan R. The R-performance models –  Golf R, Touareg R, T-Roc R, and Arteon R receive a new mate, the 2021 Tiguan R. It fits in a similar block as the Arteon R that has been recently unveiled. A 2.0-litre turbo that bestows a 316-hp to all wheels of the racy SUV. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch box.

This new Tiguan will also have a plug-in hybrid variant, that will have a borrowed powertrain from the Golf PHEV, which will consist of 1.4-litre turbo petrol combined with an electric motor for a total output of 242bhp and the promise of a 31-mile EV range.

Other than this, the new Tiguan R will have a bigger grille, new bumpers, new LED lights and some tech upgrades including wireless Apple CarPlay, VW’s We Connect and bigger screens for 2021.
