The youngest company founded as an Electric vehicle start-up which is Bengaluru-based Ather Energy.
Now coming to the sources, the company is all set to launch its much-anticipated electric vehicle, Ather 340 is expected to launch in India soon.
Sources confirm that the electric scooter was in the making for a few years now and we finally expect the production model to be out tomorrow.
As the price of the model is not yet revealed, it will be interesting to see the competition in the given price segment from the likes of the Okinawa Praise, Twenty Two Flow and Hero Electric Photon, which will be one of the most crucial factors.
Now coming to the Ather 340, we got to know that it will be featuring a premium offering from the company and will come with a lot of smart features as well like, an Android-based touchscreen with a custom user interface.
The features do not stop this way, the system also features like push navigation, over-the-air updates, parking assist system, waterproof charger, multiple riding modes and LED lights.
Considering all these aspects in the model, we would expect the electric scooter to be priced nearly close to ₹ 90,000 -1 lakhs.
So if our expectation turns out to be reality then the Ather 340 will be one the most expensive locally-made electric scooters in India, which will make the Twenty Two Flow its closest rival, priced at ₹ 74,740.
According to the sources from the company, Bookings for the scooter is also expected to commence on the day of the launch of Ather 340.
Now talking in terms of powertrain and power configurations, the Ather 340 will be coming with a 5kW brushless DC electric motor which provides about 6.4 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque to the model.
The company claims that the scooter has a top speed of 72 kmph and the company says that it can achieve a speed of 0-40 Kmph in just 5.1 seconds and it will come with a range of approximately 60 kilometers on a single charge.
According to technical sources as well, the Ather 340 Electric Scooter will come with low-speed reverse gear.
The scooter also supports a build-in fast charging, which can charge the battery up to 80 percent within an hour. Let us see if this model is a real treat to the Indian market.
