The Performance focused version of the M5 sedan has been launched which is the sporty iteration of the 5 Series called the M5 Competition by the BMW.
The M5 Competition has been brought by German carmaker via the CBU route, with prices starting from Rs 1.55 crore. Design-wise, the M5 Competition sports come up with many new changes over the standard sedan, including gloss-black accents on the kidney grille, ORVMs, side air vents, rear diffuser, and spoiler.
It has also been packed with M-specific twin exhaust and M5 Competition badging. It has been loaded with a more aggressive side-skirt, front bumper and rear bumper and its roof are being strengthened with a high-strength carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof which is specific to the Competition model.
This M5 comes from tuning company Noelle Performance, unlike other companies Noelle Performance developed its own software that ensures the engine has much more power than stock while still working harmoniously with the differential, transmission, and adaptive suspension.
The M5 Competition is powered from a V8, twin-turbocharged petrol engine which produces 625hp which is 25hp more than the standard M5 which is on sale in India at Rs 1.43 crore and 750Nm of torque.
The 8-speed automatic gearbox is paired with an engine and the M5 Competition uses BMW’s M xDrive all-wheel-drive system to puts down power through all four wheels.
The M5 Competition can do the 0-100kph sprint in just 3.3sec which is 0.1 sec quicker than the standard M5. The M xDrive system comes with various modes that are 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD, which completely disengages the all-wheel-drive and making the performance sedan rear-wheel drive.
Coming to the interiors, this model has many newly added features like multi-function sport seats, seat belts, leather multi-function steering wheel, red start/stop button, and pedals.
Other features also include wireless charging, the BMW head-up display (HUD), wireless Apple Car Play support, a 600W 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system.
The fact that makes M5 tune all the more impressive is the fact that it comes with a warranty and if an M5 from Noelle Performance experiences some kind of power train component failure that BMW won’t cover due to the modifications, the tuner will fix it free of charge within the duration of the original factory warranty
