A British fantasy romance drama, based on a trilogy called All Souls by Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches, is a critically acclaimed television series released in 2018.
A Discovery of Witches Season 1 got premiered on Sky One, in the U.K in September 2018. Produced by Bad Wolf and Sky Productions, this television adaption received a great response which resulted in the series getting confirmed for the second and third seasons in just two months, i.e. in November 2019.
A Discovery of Witches Season 2 was set to release in 2020. Still, due to the current ongoing COVID-19 pandemic all across the globe, along with various other television programs and movies, the release date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Who Has Been Cast?
The two primary characters of the show are set to return for the second instalment of the series for sure. Teresa Palmer will be back as Diana Bishop and Matthew Goode as Matthew Clairmont. Edward Bluemel, Malin Buska, Owen Teale, Valerie Pettiford and Lindsey Duncan will be cast as Marcus Whitmore, Satu Järvinen, Peter Knox, Emily Mather and Ysabeau de Clermont respectively.
While, Louise Brealey, Aiysha Hart, Alex Kingston and Trevor Eve will be cast as Gillian Chamberlain, Miriam Shephard, Sarah Bishop and Gerbert d’Aurillac respectively.
What Is The Plot?
This series is known for its very unique and merely enthralling storyline. Diana Bishop, a witch who had left her supernatural life behind along with Matthew Clairmont, a charming vampire, together seek to protect a magical manuscript discovered by Diana.
Assuming that the second season will follow the second book in the trilogy, Shadow of Night, we are expecting it to be set in London of the Elizabethan Era. This season will give us more details about Diana’s life and also reveal more about Ashmole 782. All the fans are desperately waiting for the trailer to come out and get more hints regarding the upcoming season.
