Mercedes-Benz names the’ A-class Limousine ‘ sedan in India. But that doesn’t mean it gets an extended wheelbase like its major brothers, the E-class and the S-class. It gets the same 2.729 mm wheelbase as it does in America, and not the stretched one in China. The name extension did primarily differentiate it in hatchback shape from the A-class. Which is how it marketed in its first generation here. Yet don’t let that throw you off, because the new A-class sedan has a lot to think it.
It essentially replaces the CLA as the smallest four-door model on this market for the brand, and with the A-class and B-class hatchbacks unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon for a second generation, this could become the latest entry point to the Three-Pointed Star here.

And then pricing is crucial for making an enticing entry point, thus staying clear of the C-class sedan as well. We believe the standard models to priced in the Rs 32-40 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
Such’ regular models’ expected to include the A 200, powered by a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine with 163hp, and the A 180d, powered by a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel with 116hp. Both of these expected to be mated to automatic dual-clutch gearboxes.
