Fan-favourite MCU celebrity Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) is a character some are expecting will return in Black Panther 2. Here’s why it shouldn’t occur.

Bringing back Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) for Black Panther Two would be a problematic move for your MCU. The Marvel villain was killed off at the end of Black Panther, which had been his first and only live-action look. However, there is always an opportunity — slim as it may be — that Marvel can get away to make him utilization of him.

In Black Panther, Marvel introduced Killmonger, an American soldier with all the royal blood of a Wakandan prince. Killmonger developed a hatred. After heading to Wakanda to claim the throne that he believed should belong to him, a duel was initiated between Killmonger and T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman). He won the conflict and replaced T’Challa as king nonetheless, in the end of the film, he was finally defeated at a rematch. Killmonger had an opportunity to be rescued, but he chose death.

Black Panther 2: When To Expect?

The co-writer stated that he is not rushing to begin working on Black Panther 2. And Marvel respects his choice, since he wants to create something worthy and more appealing. That’s why Marvel decided to give him time that he and his team requirements. It’s been four years when Black Panther first premiered. So it’s quite clear that MCU does not wish to push it. That’s why the sequel of the Black Panther was set by it as the first movie of MCU’s Phase Four. Recently at D23 Expo Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege confirmed that Black Panther two is set to release on May 6, 2022.

Ryan Coogler Looking For More Creative Elements

In 2018, Coogler signed with Marvel to direct and write Black Panther 2. But he stated that his team and he intentionally not working on the script. Because they wanted to create components. In an interview, Coogler said that now, they’re fighting to depict T’Challa’s character.

Since he was a teenager when he claimed as King from the comic book. He’s a man while from the MCU. They are currently trying to figure out the way to demonstrate.

He said: “What I struggled with first is that the difference between T’Challa from the MCU vs. T’Challa from the comic books. And I always feel that the differences lie in the old T’Challa was when he lost his father.” Coogler added that in the comic book, he’s very young when T’Chaka (his father) is killed. However he’s a man, so these are two things that are different. He was when he was very young a child king who got his throne.

He continued: “So once you meet with him. You know that you are working with a guy who years old who’s been a warrior for quite a while. So he’s got a different sort of confidence and poise in his or her position. Whereas that personality is merely settling in. I’d want to see what sort of King he’s with expertise. And how that impacts his performance in the stories.”
