BS6 Scorpio mahindra to come in four versions

With the update to BS6 emission standards, Mahindra is expected to streamline its Scorpio line-up. The carmaker will drop the basic S3 trim package, the 2.5-liter diesel engine and the 120hp, 2.2 mHawk diesel engine. So, ensuring the BS6-compliant SUV will have four models – S5, S7, S9 and S11 – and only the 140hp/320Nm 2,2-liter mHawk diesel engine in its lineup. Nor will the four-wheel-drive be offered.

Gearbox variants include a manual of 5 speeds (only on the S5) and a manual gearbox of 6 speeds.

The 2.2 mHawk engine provides a selective catalytic reduction system. With a dedicated urea tank along with a diesel particulate filter to make it BS6-compliant. This system also used in the brand’s 1,5-liter BS6-compliant diesel mill. This also powered the XUV300 and the Marazzo.

Moving into the interiors, the seating arrangements of the BS6 Scorpio will go on unchanged. The S5 will be available in the third row as a 7- or 9-seater with side-facing seats, the other models will be either 7- or 8-seaters, while the S11 will be offered the option of second-row captain seats and third-row front-facing seats.

The entry-level Scorpio S5 will sparsely fit on the front of the equipment with basics such as dual front airbags, ABS, air conditioning, front seat belt alerts, rear parking sensors. And Mahindra’s micro-hybrid system. On the other side, the fully equipped S11 can get accessories. Such as alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch navigation display, auto climate control, reverse camera. With faux leather upholstery, cruise control, and puddle lamps.

In addition to this update to the BS6. Mahindra also planning a new Scorpio SUV model scheduled to launch next year. The cards also feature a new version of the XUV500. And also the second generation Thar.
