Since the leader of the Avengers and among those few people responsible for saving the whole world on multiple events, you’d expect Captain America to command the respect of nearly everybody that he experiences immediately. A sure version of Steve Rogers would not have struck fear into the hearts of the bullies that he needed to contend with, but Chris Evans’ super-buff super-soldier was an entirely different proposition.
It ends up that was not exactly the case though, since a brand new compilation movie based on Cap’s decade as a crucial figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has made its way online, and goes to show that the star-spangled superhero appeared to devote an awful lot of time being punched in the face.
In the backstreets of World War II-era New York into a desperate final stand against Thanos through Avengers: Endgame’s climactic battle where he had been initially set to be decapitated, Cap has undoubtedly been through the wringer as he has faced off against enemies like the Red Skull, friends-turned-enemies-turned-friends Bucky Barnes and Tony Stark. Even himself since the 2012 and 2023 variations of Steve Rogers faced off at a struggle for supremacy over the right to be named America’s Ass.
Every hero at the MCU is exposed to a little bit of wear and tear, but the fact that Captain America doesn’t have the advantage of being able to shoot arrows from a distance, strap to a weaponized armored suit, web-swing from his surroundings, summon the ability of enchanted Asgardian hammers or turn himself into a giant green rage monster usually means he’s compelled to do conflict up close and personal. This movie only goes to demonstrate that it did not exactly go off without a hitch.
