Everything You Should To Know About Resident Evil’s 25th Anniversary

The first Resident Evil game released in March 1996, also a new page of Capcom’s Japanese licensing website (seen by Rockman Corner) shows it is looking for licensing partners to formally recognize the event, as it has done in the past.

“We are searching for licensees, focusing on the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series (March 2021) and product development of the latest title Resident Evil 3,” the listing reads. “We are excited about planning campaigns and goods that take benefit of the world view of Resident Evil.”

In 2016 Capcom commemorated the horror series’ 20th birthday with a line of product, an HD remaster of Resident Evil Zero, also spin-off shot Umbrella Corps.

According to a recent report, corroborated by VGC resources, Resident Evil 8 will release on present and next-gen consoles in 2021. Like Resident Evil 7, the 2021 game will feature returning protagonist Ethan Winters and a first-person perspective.

As shown by VGC, Capcom is also working on a Resident Evil 4 remake.

The job is in development at Osaka-based M-Two, the brand new studio founded by former PlatinumGames mind Tatsuya Minami, which has been preparing for its development since 2018, growth sources advised VGC earlier this season.

As stated by noted insider Dusk Golem – who also confirmed VGC’s report — Resident Evil 4 includes a larger development team compared to the series’ past two remakes, such as support from Capcom’s internal Resident Evil two and Devil May Cry 5 teams.

Capcom franchises Devil May Cry and Mega Man will even celebrate anniversaries.
