Hyundai s sister company Kia Motors Corporation, is another automotive giant situated in Seoul and is South Korea’s second-largest automobile manufacturer, following the Hyundai Motor Company, reported with annual sales of over 3.3 million vehicles in 2015.
As per the official reports of December 2015, the Kia Motor Corporation is a minority-owned by Hyundai, which owns a 33.88% stake valued at just over US$6 billion.
Kia has been keen to enter the Indian automobile industry, but now KIA is readying for its India entry with it’s SP SUV, which was launched earlier as a concept previous year in the auto expo.
As per the previous data available from the 2018 Auto Expo the company previewed as many as seventeen models at the event.
While all the displayed models were not only Indian based, the one was on everyone’s notice was the KIA Grand Carnival.
Essentially launched as a luxury SUV, the main feature is a spacious cabin and ample room for the occupants; it should be already noted that this model is already a part of KIA’s product line-up in several other markets.
Taking a glance at its interiors we got to know that With new in class features such as smart power tailgate, power sliding doors, three-zone climate control and heated & ventilated seats the interiors just look mesmerizing.
Taking a look at the transmission and drivetrain, the 2.2-liter diesel engine churns out a maximum power of 196bhp and 441Nm of torque at its peak. On the other hand, the 3.3-liter MPI petrol unit is good for top power of 264bhp against 317Nm torque.
Both types of engines are mated to a six-gear manual transmission in order to provide different speed-torque profiles.
On the safety front, the KIA Grand Carnival features an advanced high strength steel and airbag system, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, rearview camera, forward-collision warning system.
As per the company claims, both the engines including the 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel and 3.3-liter petrol unit are claimed to be efficient in nature.
We believe that Kia Grand carnival will give a tough competition to industrial giants like Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota vellfire and Mercedes Benz V-class.
