Kia motors consider launching Soul in the Indian market, soon.
The subcompact crossover SUV has been in the International Long since 2014. And after debuting in the Auto Expo 2020, the Indian market looks the next base.
We have heard Kia, that the next big launch, will be heard soon. In India, the subcompact Sonet will be the next big launch. The company is also leaning towards the subcompact SUV segment and looking to bring some of its best vehicle lineups for India.
Manohar Bhat, VP Head- Sales and Marketing, Kia Motors India said, “We got a lot of feedback from customers at the Auto Expo 2020 about the Soul. The Soul is a very young and different looking vehicle. While the Soul EV might not be a viable solution for India right now, it Soul is available in other powertrains and it is well worth looking at. We have got very positive feedback about the design of the Soul. We will look at the Soul or a similar vehicle for the Indian market going forward. We are seriously looking at it and we’ll bring it only after checking out on how the market is progressing.”
The Soul, in the international market has two petrol engine offers. One is a 2-liter four-cylinder 247 bhp engine and the other a 1.6 liter turbocharged 200 hp engine. The electric powertrains, as mentioned above, could not be suited for India for now.
