Knightfall, one of the few scripted series of TV series by History TV. A historical drama which explores the life of fictional brothers of Knights Templar in the historical context of the struggle between state and church. The first season of the TV series was aired on December 6, 2017, and garnered mixed reactions but it probably earned. The first season proved successful enough to make History TV order another season on August 13 2018. It earned a respectable score on Rotten tomatoes and IMBD of 6.8.

Tom Cullen as Landry de Lauzon, a senior brother of the Knights Templar and raised by an abuse master Gendry. Gendry gets assassinated and he becomes the master and commander of the Paris Temple. An investigation reveals that the Grail is now in France and now he embarks on a journey to solve the mystery of his mentor’s death and to find the Holy Grail. Harry Webster portrays a young Landry in season 1.
Season two premiered 25 2019 it introduced few big plotlines and new characters. We find Landry expelled from the Paris Temple but he insists on getting readmitted into the Templar. He gets reflected by the brothers as an initiate. Now he begins his training afresh seeking for his acts.
The main cast of the series includes Julian Ovenden as William de Nogaret, Jim Carter as Pope Boniface VIII, Tom Cullen as Landry de Lauzon, Ed Stoppard as King Philip, Tom Forbes as Prince Louis of France, Mark Hamill as Master Talus.
Knightfall Season 3 Get Cancelled Which Is Disappointing
There was a lot of uncertainty over the fate of the series producers were taking a lot of time in ordering the third season. There was all kind of speculations, and few were expecting it to return despite the 50% drop in the viewership. The second season ended on a cliffhanger, and as History tv has very few scripted tv series so chances of getting renewed were high. Fans were eager to know the fate of the brothers after they were sentenced to imminent death by fire.
But finally, the show was cancelled in May 2020. It’s disappointing this historical drama had a lot of potentials, and it’s not good to left it unfinished with many subplots hanging in uncertainty.
