    Mahindra: Mahindra Electric appoints Mahesh Babu as MD, CEO

    As we all know Mahesh Babu has been with Mahindra for over 20 years. Mahesh has been involved with many projects, including the development of XUV500.

    Brief Information:

    Mahesh Babu promoted from CEO to managing director (MD) and also CEO of Mahindra Electric from May-7-2020.

    This decision was made by the board of directors in a meeting on May-6-2020.

    Mahesh Babu has been with Mahindra for over 20 years. Babu has involved in the designing and development of engine and vehicle platforms for multiple models.

    Mahesh Babu Achievements:

    Mahindra Electric Mobility manufactures and supplies electric vehicles, software solutions, and components. So the company has elevated its CEO, Mahesh Babu to the Managing director and CEO of the company. This decision is effective from May-7-2020. The decision took by the board of directors in a meeting held on May-6-2020.

    So Mahesh Babu has always at the forefront of Mahindra Electric’s product development and design in the development of the production version of the MESMA 350 platform. Including electric three and four-wheelers. He has been actively taking part in Mahindra Rs 200 crore EV plant in Chakan. Mahesh has also been part of many central and state-level EV policy led workshops.

    Babu has been a part of Mahindra over two decades and has worked for the designing and development of engine and vehicle platforms. Also ranging from a three-wheeler to flagship models. So Babu joint two patents and has won the Mahindra Group Innovation twice. Firstly, for the SUV turbocharged engine development and the latter for the development of the first Indian Common Rail SUV.

    Mahindra mentioned one of the prestigious projects under his leadership was the XUV500. For this project, he won 25 awards within a year of launch.

    Mahesh actively participates in some state and national level EV policy discussions. Such as Champions Of Change organized by NITI Aayog.
