Not a List, But an Essay on Available New Top Scooters in Indian Market !!!

Piaggio just launched its the BS6 variants of Vespa. Prices for the Vespa 125cc line begin at Rs 1.10 lakh, while the Vespa 150cc range starts at Rs 1.22 lakh. The new facelifts feature minimal changes, like the addition of an LED headlight, DRLs, and a USB charging port.

The engine specifications of both the facelift remain the same as their current models. The SXL 125 and VXL 125 are powered by a 124.45cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produces 9.9hp and 9.6Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the SXL 150 and VXL 150 are powered by a 149.5cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that makes 10.5hp and 10.6Nm of torque. The scooters remain visually identical as well.

With these upcoming new scooters, Aprilia also launched the Storm disc-brake variant. It starts from a price tag of Rs 91,321. It was delayed due to the pandemic and was an awaited update to the lower trims. The disc brake-equipped version should have been an option offered from the beginning. This welcome addition on the performance-oriented Storm 125 will finally give it the stopping power it needed. However, the scooter will still miss out on ABS and only make do with a Combined Braking System (CBS); the rear continues with a drum brake.

TVS also announced its BS6 Zest 110. It is priced at Rs 58,460 and is about Rs 7,000 more expensive to the BS4 model. It is available in two variants – Himalayan High Series and Matte Series, while the color options include red, blue, purple, black, yellow, and turquoise blue.

The scooter will feature 110cc, air-cooled engine with electronic fuel injection. This produces 7.6-hp and 8.8 Nm of peak torque. Riding on 10-inch wheels at both ends, it is suspended by telescopic forks and a mono-shock. A drum handles braking at both ends with a combined braking setup.
