Santa Clarita Diet Season 4 Stands Cancelled, Netflix Must Reconsider It

Santa Clarita Diet is a very highly rated Netflix original American horror-comedy web series with a rating of 90 on rotten tomatoes. Show created by Victor Fresco for the streaming giant first premiered on Netflix on February 3 2017. This show is a very smart offering combining the horror, zombie and mythology genre into one humorous and witty web series. This show was an instant hit when the first season of the single-camera show appeared on Netflix. Since then it got three seasons with ten episodes each.

In season one, we are introduced to a regular suburban couple, Joel and Sheila. Their lives take an unprecedented turn when Sheila mysteriously undergoes a metamorphosis, becomes undead and starts craving human flesh and blood. Now they must face all the obstacles as a family in order to help Sheila through her transformation. They have to deal with neighbours as sheila devours their children. They are also subjected to conventional cultural stereotypes against the zombies.

Santa Clarita Diet Season 4, What Should We Expect Next

The main characters of the series are played by the actors like Drew Barrymore as Sheila Hammond, Joel’s wife and Abby’s mother, Timothy Olyphant as Joel Hammond, Sheila’s husband and Abby’s father, Liv Hewson as Abby Hammond, Sheila and Joel’s daughter, Skyler Gisondo as Eric Bemis, the Hammonds’ neighbour, Lisa’s son and Dan’s stepson.

Santa Clarita Diet Season 4 Is Unlikely To Happen, Latest Updates

The series officially stands cancelled as the announcement was made on April 26, 2019. Cindy Holland, manager of Netflix’s original content reacted to this unfortunate development,

When we are investing, we determine how much to spend depending on the audience which will appear. In case the audience does not appear, we consider the motive to continue to put money into something which does not do as well as we’d expected.

Fans are clearly disappointed. Let’s hope Netflix will react to the fan outcry and the series will get renewed. It’s such a waste to discontinue such highly rated series with a fascinating plot.
